Barcelona’s attempt for De Bruyne before the pandemic revealed

A shocking report claims that Barcelona were interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne last summer however the pandemic dented the chances.

“Barcelona had explored the possibility of buying De Bruyne but the pandemic snuffed out any chance they had of signing the PFA player of the year as their debts have risen to £1 billion.”

De Bruyne had recently penned a new deal with the Citizens, which will keep him at the club until 2025.

Laporta pushing for Haaland transfer

There hasn’t been a day without the transfer rumours of Erling Haaland in recent times and Barcelona are understood to be among the interested parties for the Norwegian.

The Catalans president Joan Laporta has made the signing of Haaland a priority ahead of Lionel Messi’s contract situation.

Laporta holds a good relationship with Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola, which is seen as a big advantage in the Dortmund striker’s pursuit.

La Liga giants have been linked with a flurry of centre-forwards this summer however Haaland tops their wishlist.

Besides, the Blaugrana have to sort out the situation of Messi whose current deal expires this summer.

Laporta had previously stated his desire to keep the Argentine beyond this season meanwhile Messi is slowly buying into the idea of staying at the Nou Camp.

The six-time Ballon d”Or winner reportedly wants to share the field with Haaland, who is rated in the excess of £150m.
