Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta is looking to bring Sergio Aguero to the Spanish club at the end of this season.
The Argentine international is nearing the end of his contract at Manchester City and he could prove to be a quality short term addition for the Spanish outfit.
The likes of Antoine Griezmann have not been able to hit their peak form at Barcelona and Aguero would be a welcome addition.
The Premier League star is a proven goal scorer who would add goals and creativity to the Barcelona attack.
Furthermore he shares a great relationship with Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and he could form a lethal partnership with his compatriot if he moves to Camp Nou.
Manchester City might not be keen on letting their star striker leave at the end of this season but they are powerless because of his contract situation and it remains to be seen if they can convince the Argentine to sign a new contract with them.
Aguero has played in the Spanish League previously with Atletico Madrid and he should be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact at Barcelona.
That said, it will be interesting to see if Joan Laporta is elected as the next Barcelona president. Recently he claimed that his election could be the key to keeping Lionel Messi at the club.
The Spanish club will be desperate to hold on to Messi beyond this season and it remains to be seen if Laporta can win the election and help the Spanish club hold on to the Argentine superstar.
