Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has been linked with a move to Manchester City this summer.

According to ESPN, the Premier League champions are ready to offer him a two-year contract if he decides to leave the Spanish club.

Apparently, Manchester City will offer him a two-year contract with the possibility of a third year if his performance is up to the required level.

The defender could be offered an alternative spell in the Major League Soccer with NYC FC as well. The city football group owns the MLS club.

Ramos is nearing the end of his contract with Real Madrid, and he has not renewed his deal so far.

The Spanish international will be a free agent on the 30th of June. Apparently, there is a meeting planned between the Real Madrid captain and club president Florentino Perez in the next few days. A definite decision will be taken regarding the defender’s future.

It will be interesting to see if Pep Guardiola can convince the Spanish international to move to the Premier League on a short term deal.

Apparently, the Manchester City manager admires Ramos’ experience and leadership qualities.

The highly experienced centre back has won everything at the club level, and with his country and his winning experience will be a priceless addition to the Manchester City dressing room.

Furthermore, Ramos is a quality player when he’s fit, and he could partner with Ruben Dias at the back next season. Dias has already helped City improve at the back immensely, and Ramos’ arrival will only strengthen them further.

Also, an experienced defender like Ramos could be a mentor for Dias, who is still a very young centre back.
