Cavani wants to give his best before leaving
Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has insisted that he wants to leave something good behind at Old Trafford.
The Uruguayan has been a hit lately for the Red Devils, chipping in with goals in the absence of Anthony Martial.
However, Cavani’s short-term deal is coming to an end, with no talks for an extension being started.
Earlier, it was reported that the former PSG man had become frustrated with the lack of game and hence contemplating a move to Argentine club Boca Juniors.
Despite facing an uncertain future, Cavani is determined to give his best and also willing to offer his support to youngsters.
“Honestly speaking, I don’t really like to just give out advice. I’m just here to do my absolute best and to support this team and leave everything I have out on the field, whether that’s in a game or a training session.
“Then, if a young player comes up and asks me something or they see me do things during a training session that they’d like to incorporate into their game, then that’s great. I believe that there are lessons all around you, not just from players in your own position.”
Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solslkjaer recently stated that he would try his best to convince Cavani over a new deal.
United plotting £90m move for Harry Kane
Man Utd are planning to submit £90m for Tottenham striker Harry Kane, a strategy devised by Glazers to appease fans.
United owners Glazers stirred the pot after involving in the Europe Super League – which would cancel later, and in turn, United faithful have been showing their continuous disapproval of late. Perhaps they went to an extent by invading Old Trafford before the Man Utd and Liverpool game.
Glazers, who have found themselves on the receiving end, are now planning to pacify the fans by submitting an ambitious bid for Kane, whose future is up in the air.
Kane is said to be mulling over his future as Tottenham have been lacklustre this season, which would see them wind up with no trophies.
Prospect of Cavani and Kane playing together?
If Cavani was to stay and Kane also manages to complete his move to Old Trafford, then the Red Devils would boast one of the fearsome attacking line-ups.
But will Kane and Cavani work in tandem? There is a clear difference between their playing style apart from their age, with Kane is more of a deep-lying striker, excelling in all aspects from playmaking to finishing in the box. Meanwhile, Cavani is known for predatory instinct inside the box, and he hasn’t seemingly slowed down despite the fact that he is 34 now.
Does it make sense to have both Cavani and Kane in United squad? They both play in centre forward position. That would provide options to Ole Gunnar Solskjær and strengthen reserve bench. Though, in that case, the game time for Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood would be limited. But considering Cavani would get one year extension, Kane transfer make sense as the England Captain would serve United for another three to four years.
