Tottenham Transfer: Mourinho keen on Leipzig star, Spurs to battle it out with Arsenal for Frenchman

Marcel Sabitzer-RB Leipzig

Sabitzer pursuit

Tottenham are interested in signing the RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has done exceptionally well for the German club and he would be a quality addition to Jose Mourinho’s midfield.

Spurs need someone who will add goals and creativity at the centre of the park and Sabitzer would be the ideal partner for Hojbjerg and Ndombele.

Tottenham have quality central midfielders who can defend and carry the ball but they need someone who can make an impact in the final third. Sabitzer has the quality to chip in with goals and create goalscoring opportunities.

However, a player of Sabitzer’s calibre might want to play Champions League football and it will be interesting to see if the Londoners can secure a top-four finish this season.

Nkunku tussle with Arsenal

Meanwhile, Spurs are also keeping tabs on the Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku.

The 23-year-old has seven goals and six assists to his name this season and he could be a superb squad option for Jose Mourinho.

The Frenchman can play anywhere across the front three and in the midfield. His versatility will be very useful for Spurs during rotation and injury problems.

The Londoners need to add more depth to their attack and the 23 year old wouldn’t be a bad investment for them.

Apparently, the likes of Arsenal are keen on the player as well and it remains to be seen whether Spurs can fend off the competition and secure his services.
