Arsenal are keen on signing the Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico this summer.
As per reports, they want to complete a £20m deal for the Argentine.
The 27 year old left back has done well in Holland and he would be a solid addition to Arteta’s defence. The player is keen on moving to the Emirates as well this summer.
It will be interesting to see if the Gunners can agree on a deal with Ajax for their star defender.
The Londoners recently signed Kieran Tierney from Celtic. The Scottish international is a top talent and Arsenal should be patient with him.
If Tagliafico comes in, Tierney’s first team chances will take a massive hit.
The former Celtic ace would be a backup for the Argentine and that could stall his development.
Arsenal want to use Saka in a more advanced role and therefore they need two left backs. Having two left backs is not uncommon but bringing in a experienced star when you have someone like Tierney does seem a little strange.
It will be interesting to see what happens to the Scotsman if Tagliafico comes in.
Meanwhile, the Gunners might not be the only ones after Tagliafico. He was being looked at by Chelsea and Atletico Madrid as well recently.
The player wants a new challenge and the Premier league is a tempting option. It will be interesting to see if he gets the move to Arsenal in the coming months.
