Arteta could be approached to become the new Barcelona manager

Mikel Arteta Arsenal Manager

The Barcelona presidential elections are just around the corner and Joan Laporta is one of the favourites to be voted into power for a second time.

Apparently Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is on Laporta’s shortlist to take over at Barcelona as the club’s new manager.

Ronald Koeman has had a mediocre time at the Spanish club so far and it wouldn’t be surprising if a new president decides to bring in a new manager.

Arteta has done a reasonably good job at Arsenal and he has already helped them win the FA Cup and the Community Shield.

It will be interesting to see if the Spanish outfit can lure him away from the London club at the end of this season.

The opportunity to coach one of the best clubs in world football and the chance to work with Lionel Messi might be hard to turn down for the Arsenal manager.

Arteta is still quite young and inexperienced as a manager and it will be interesting to see if he can handle the massive egos in the Barcelona dressing room if he takes over at Camp Nou.

The Spanish outfit have not been at their best in the recent years and they are struggling to compete for the top honours like the Spanish League title and the Champions League title.

It will be interesting to see if they can get back to their best in the coming years and hold onto key players like Lionel Messi.

The Argentine will be a free agent at the end of this season and it remains to be seen whether the Spanish outfit can convince him to sign an extension with them.
