The Uruguayan striker is reportedly not in the plans of Koeman.

Barcelona are looking for a life without Luis Suarez as they have decided to sever ties with him.

As per reports, Barca are ready to end the contract of Suarez although he has a year left in his current deal.

Barca’s new manager Ronald Koeman doesn’t see the Uruguayan as a key player in his revolution.

The 33-year-old has come under fire after he suffered a dip in his performances for the past few seasons. Ajax are understood to be monitoring the situation of Suarez and their sporting director Marc Overmars is working on a reunion.

Elsewhere, Barca are said to be counting on Suarez for the transfer of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, who is wanted by Koeman at Barcelona.

Koeman has identified Lautaro Martinez and Memphis Depay as the replacement options for Suarez, with the former one turning out to be a long-time target.

As per a clause in his current deal, Suarez is allowed to extend his contract if he finds regular game time in the upcoming season. But the chances are looking bleak for the former Liverpool star to survive at the Nou Camp.

Koeman has also reportedly told players like Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal and Samuel Umtiti that they don’t fit in his plans for the next season.

Barca are looking to exclude as many as eight players from the first team ahead of the next season.

Doubts are hanging over the availability of Messi for the next season as the Argentine is considering leaving the Nou Camp after more than a decade. Nonetheless, Koeman wants to build the squad around him.

Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu believes that Messi would look to end his career in the Blaugrana colours.
