 Bayern Munich pull off a thrilling comeback to secure the three points against Mainz

Bayern Munich picked up a 5-2 win over mines in the Bundesliga earlier tonight.

Mainz did exceedingly well to take a 2-0  lead in the first half but the German champions were outstanding and they managed to pull off a thrilling come back in the second half.

Jonathan Burkardt put the away side in the lead on the 32nd minute and Alexander Hack doubled Mainz’ advantage on the 44th minute.

The home side got back into the game through Joshua Kimmich on the 50th minute and a Leroy Sane scored the equaliser 5 minutes later.

Niklas Sule gave Bayern Munich the lead on the 70th minute and Robert Lewandowski scored a brace late on in the game to secure all three points for the German champions.

Bayern Munich were firm favourites heading into the game and they will be delighted to have picked up all three points here.

The win takes the German champions to 1st place in the League table and they have picked up 33 points from 14 League games.

RB Leipzig are breathing down their necks points from 14 matches and Bayern Munich will have to continue their impressive run of form in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Mainz are 17th in the League table with just six points from 14 matches and they will have to improve immensely if they want to survive relegation this season.
