Bayern Munich updates: Latest on Upamecano, Serie A midfielder linked, Flick’s words for Douglas Costa

Hans-Dieter Flick - Bayern's development has been crazy

Bayern Munich going all out for Upamecano

Bayern Munich are ready to go all out for centre-back target  Dayot Upamecano whom RB Leipzig are unwilling to sell in January.

The Bavarians would be forced to sign a centre-back as David Alaba has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid and there is uncertainty looming over Jerome Boateng’s future.

Upamecano could fit the bill of hitting the ground with no time required for adaptation.

Nicola Barella on the radar of Bayern

Inter midfielder Nicola Barella has caught the attention of trio Bayern, Barcelona and Real Madrid after a string of impressive displays this season including the masterclass against Juventus last week, where he racked up a goal and an assist.

The Bavarians are also said to have notified the Italians about their interest in signing the young midfielder.

Flick casts doubts on Douglas Costa’s future

Bayern boss Hansi Flick has cast doubts on Juventus loanee Douglas Costa amid links on a possible return to Italy.

Flick has urged the Brazilain to up his ante owing to a lot of competition at the main team.

“Our squad is almost complete; the quality of training is very appealing. Douglas has worked hard. The level of competition within the squad is high at the moment, which is why we take it game by game. Every player has to accept this situation and prove themselves to the coaches.”

“We tried to take him to the next step, but the competition is currently very intense. It’s always a difficult decision for the coaching team. He has to show the coaching team his quality. That’s why it’s his job to go one step further.”
