Bayern Munich returned to Bundesliga action with an emphatic win over Stuttgart on Saturday.

Goals from Kingsley Coman, Robert Lewandowski and Douglas Costa were enough to seal the win for Bayern who had to fight back to win after the hosts had opened the scoring via Tanguy Coulibaly.

The visitors started the game on a bright note, with Lewandoski hitting the post in the third minute. After being released by a Coman through-ball.

Despite keeping the ball well, it was Stuttgart who broke the deadlock in the 20th minute. A quick break by Stuttgart saw Wamangituka get past Hernandez to pick up the run of Coulibaly, who fired past a hapless Neuer.

The defending champions were stunned, but to their credit kept plugging at the Stuttgart defence.

Their breakthrough came in the 38th minute after Thomas Muller had found the Kingsley Coman in the middle with the winger able to beat the keeper from the edge of the box.

Stuttgart thought they had restored their lead when Foster fired into an empty net after Coulibaly had robbed Neuer of the ball, but VAR judged the keeper had been fouled in the build-up to the goal.

Bayern will go on to take the lead before the break with Lewandoski scoring his 12th goal in just his seventh Bundesliga start this season after being spotted by Coman.

The visitors wrapped things up three minutes before regulation time as two substitutes Lory Sane and Douglas Costa combined to seal the points for Bayern.

The win takes them to 22 points for the season, two ahead of closest challengers RB Leipzig.
