Burnley 0-1 Man United: Pogba propelled United climb to the top of the table

Manchester United picked up a vital 1-0 win over Burnley in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Paul Pogba scored the only goal of the game on the 71st minute to put Manchester United three points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table.

The French international converted from Marcus Rashford’s cross.

The Red Devils had other chances to increase their advantage but the likes of Anthony Martial were denied by Nick Pope.

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire had a goal ruled out in the first half for a foul.

Burnley had their chances in the second half and they came close to equalizing twice. Matej Vydra hit the side netting on the 87th minute and James Tarkowski missed a chance from close range in injury time.

Manchester United will now take on Liverpool on Sunday and it will be interesting to see if they can extend their lead at the top of the table with a win.

The Red Devils had 36 points From 17 matches. Meanwhile, Burnley are 16th in the Premier League table with 16 points from 16 matches.

They’re just five points above the bottom 3 and they will have to improve a lot in the coming weeks if they want to beat the drop this season.

As for Manchester United, they are very much in the title race and a win over Liverpool on Sunday would give them the belief to go all the way this season.
