Lazio picked up a 2-1 win over Cagliari in Serie A last night.

They came from behind to secure a vital win which will allow them to compete in the Champions League after 13 years.

Ciro Immobile has been ever-present for Lazio this season and he managed to score the winner for his side once again. The Italian is now ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the Golden boot.

Joao Pedro’s freekick gave Cagliari the lead in the game but Lazio scored the equalizer through Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Immobile bagged the winner in the end.

The win leaves Lazio fourth with 72 points and they are now 11 points clear of Roma in fifth place, with just three games to go.

Unless Napoli win the Champions League, Lazio will play in Europe’s premier competition next season.

Lazio will be relieved with a return to Europe but their will be disappointed with their league campaign. At one point, they were breathing down Juventus’ necks for the Scudetto and now they are fourth in the league.

They have been quite inconsistent since the restart and that has cost them the title race.

That said, they can still finish second in the table this season. Lazio are just two points behind Atalanta and one point behind Inter Milan in the league table with three games to go.

They will be looking to finish as high as possible by winning their remaining games.
