Chelsea 3-2 Palace Giroud, Pulisic, Abraham scored for Chelsea

Chelsea picked up a thrilling 3-2 win over Crystal Palace last night.

Goals from Giroud, Pulisic and Abraham sealed a vital win for Frank Lampard’s side. Chelsea are now up to 3rd in the Premier League table and they will be hoping to stay there until the end of the season.

Olivier Giroud gave his side the lead six minutes into the game and Christian Pulisic scored his eighth goal of the season on the 27th minute to double Chelsea’s advantage.

The hosts fought back almost immediately when Wilfried Zaha’s shot rocketed into the top corner on the 34th minute.

Chelsea’s lead was doubled once again when Tammy Abraham scored on the 71st minute. However, the two-goal advantage was short-lived. Christian Benteke converted a minute later to give the home side some hope.

The Blues will be delighted to have held on to their one-goal lead until the end. Palace could have easily taken something from the game if not for Kurt Zouma’s world-class last-ditch tackle on Benteke during the closing stages of the game.

Chelsea will be looking to book their place in the Champions League group stages for the next season and this was a crucial result for them. They will now hope to secure automatic qualification by finishing in the top three.

Leicester dropped out of the top three after a draw against Arsenal last night and it will be interesting to see if Chelsea can hold on to the third place until the end of the season.
