Chelsea Transfer Round-up: Rice, Sandro, Tagliafico

Sheffield 3-0 Chelsea Chelsea's Champions league hopes in doubt

Chelsea have submitted an offer for the West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

The 21-year-old has been in excellent form for the Hammers and Lampard wants to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Rice is a defensive midfielder but he can play as a centre back as well. Chelsea want him to improve them at the back.

It will be interesting to see if the Hammers agree to the deal now.

Chelsea have apparently offered £50million for Rice. Although that is big money for someone so young, Rice is a mercurial talent and the two clubs are bitter rivals.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see West Ham turn the offer down and demand more for their star player.

Meanwhile, the Blues are looking to improve their full back positions as well and they have been linked with Alex Sandro.

The player is available for a fee of just £36m and it will be interesting to see if the Blues decide to make an offer.

They need to find upgrades on Alonso and Palmieri this summer. Lampard cannot hope to challenge for the title with them starting for the club.

Another potential left-back target is Nicolas Tagliafico

Chelsea are looking at him as a potential signing after their pursuit of Ben Chilwell failed to produce any results.

The 27-year-old has the experience and the quality to improve the Blues at the back and it will be interesting to see if the Premier League giants submit an offer in the coming weeks.
