The Gunners won the penalty shoot 5-4.

Arsenal locked horns with Liverpool in the Community Shield finals at Wembley.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stunningly opened the scoring as his goal-scoring streak continued.

The Reds managed to find the equalizer in the 73rd minute, with Takumi Minamino finding the nets.

The game progressed to the penalty shootout, where the Gunners had the last laugh after Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster missed the decisive penalty. Mikel Arteta’s men won the game 5-4 in penalties.

Arsenal have become quite a side of late under the Spaniard, winning FA Cup and now the Community shield.

Although enduring a bad season at the start, which saw them leave the Europa League prematurely, the North Londoners have been brilliant post the COVID break. Arteta has beaten the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool in a span of three months.

Aubameyang has been the star performer for the Gunners as his relentless goal-scoring form has helped win big games. Arteta is confident that the Gabonese striker is closer to signing a new two-year deal.

Elsewhere, the Reds were complacent throughout the game, not the start Klopp would have wanted ahead of next season.

Despite winning the Premier League title, Liverpool failed massively in the Champions League and FA Cup last season.

Following the defeat, Klopp also took the entire responsibility for the youngster Brewster missing the decisive penalty.
