Cristiano Ronaldo creates history as he guides Juventus to an Italian cup win over Napoli

Cristiano Ronaldo-Juventus-Super Cup

Juventus picked up a 2-0 win over Napoli in the Supercoppa Italiana earlier tonight.

Both teams managed to cancel each other out in the first half but Cristiano Ronaldo broke the deadlock on the 64th minute and Alvaro Morata wrapped up the scoring deep into injury time.

Napoli will be disappointed to have come away empty handed after the way they defended for the first hour. They were handed a golden chance to equalise on the 80th minute but Lorenzo Insigne missed a penalty.

Juventus were the favourites heading into the game and the fans will be pleased with the outcome tonight.

Meanwhile Cristiano Ronaldo has now become the highest ever goal scorer in football history surpassing Josef  Biscan who netted 759 official goals.

Ronaldo has 760 goals to his name now and he is also very close to breaking the international  scoring record. Ronaldo is just seven goals behind Ali Daei.

The Portuguese forward has managed to guide Juventus to an Italian Super Cup win and he will be hoping to leave them to the League title as well.

Juventus have been quite mediocre in the league campaign this season and they will need to improve a lot in order to beat the Milan clubs to the title.

They are currently 10 points behind league leaders Milan and Inter are in second place. Even Napoli have done better than Juventus in the league and they would have fancied their chances of a cup win tonight.
