Cristiano Ronaldo wanted PSG transfer before the Pandemic

Juventus ace Cristiano Ronaldo had reportedly demanded a transfer move to PSG before the Pandemic outbreak, according to France Football.

As per reports, the Portuguese star was interested in teaming up with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at Parc des Princes before the pandemic outbreak hindered the process.

It is also added that Juventus’ lack of success in the Champions League made Ronaldo change his mind to seek a transfer to Les Parisiens. Juve was knocked out of the last season’s UCL by Ajax in the quarterfinals.

There were speculation of Ronaldo’s possible move to Paris in March. At the same time Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo during an interview with France Football.

Ronaldo is currently in his second season in Italy and continues to be the driving force for the Bianconeri, who recently secured the Scudetto.

The 35-year-old came up short in the European golden shoe race, with Lazio striker Ciro Immobile winning both the Serie A Golden Boot and the European Golden shoe by bagging 36 goals in the league. Nonetheless, Ronaldo scored 32 goals in the Italian top flight.

However, Juve’s season is not over yet as they will face Lyon in the second leg of the knockouts this weekend. Lyon won the first leg 1-0 and have the edge over the Serie A champions.

Maurizio Sarri rested Ronaldo in the final league fixture against AS Roma in order to keep the former Real Madrid man fresh for the Champions League clash.

Juve’s Chief Football officer Fabio Paratici stated earlier that Ronaldo would remain at Allianz Stadium next season.
