Juventus 3-3 Sassuolo: Juve went ahead seven points clear

Juventus 3-3 Sassuolo Juve went ahead seven points clear

Juventus were held to a 3-3 draw against Sassuolo in the Italian Serie A last night.

The league leaders are on their way to a ninth consecutive title but they will be disappointed with some of their performances recently.

Juventus had a two goal lead in the game but they managed to throw it away and settled for a 3-3 draw.

With five games left to play, Juventus’s frailties could allow the others to get back into the title race. They cannot afford to keep dropping points.

The Italian champions are seven points clear at the top of the table but Atalanta can close in with a couple of favourable results.

The second placed side thrashed Brescia 6-2 on Tuesday.

Maurizio Sarri’s men romped to a 2-0 lead after Danilo and Gonzalo Higuain scored for them. However, they were poor at the back and Sassuolo made them pay.

Despite Giorgio Chiellini’s return to the starting lineup, the defending champions struggled to contain the opposition attack. Juventus have now conceded 11 goals in five games.

They will be hoping to do well in the Champions League as well this season and if they continue to give away goals like this, they will not be able to compete with the European elite.

Sassuolo scored through Filip Djuricic, Domenico Berardi and Francesco Caputo.

Alex Sandro headed Juventus level with 26 minutes to play and Juventus will be relieved to have got something out of the game in the end.

Juventus will now host Lazio on Monday in their next game.
