Brazilian defender Danilo wants his teammate Gabriel Jesus to sign for Juventus.

Juventus defender Danilo, who is currently away with the Brazilian national team for Copa America, has weighed in on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, stating he is likely to stay in Turin beyond this summer.

The Portuguese ace’s exit links have been circulating in recent weeks, with PSG reportedly looking like the potential suitors. However, Danilo insisted that the 36-year-old is key to Bianconeri going forward.

Danilo said: “Having him in the team is important for us because he brings an avalanche of goals, and besides, he’s a dear friend, we’ve known each other since Real Madrid.

“He’ll still be with us next season.”

Danilo also backed his compatriot Gabriel Jesus to join the Old Lady as he lauded the Manchester City star as intelligent.

“Of course, Gabriel is good and very intelligent.

“He could grow more in Italy because in Serie A they close down well, and it’s harder to score. If I could, I would bring him to Juventus.”

Nonetheless, the Bianconeri haven’t been linked with any prolific striker thus far due to the overwhelming options.

Alvaro Morata is set to extend his loan spell at Allianz Arena from Atletico Madrid, and his impressive form in Euro 2020 could be a massive boost for Bianconeri.

Paulo Dybala, who remained in the shadows for the entirety of the last season, is likely to be the central figure of attack under new manager Max Allegri.

Meanwhile, Jesus has struggled for game time over the last few seasons at Man City, and he could be desperate for a move away from the Etihad.

However, City reportedly plan to use the Brazilian striker as a makeweight sign top target Harry Kane.
