Ronald Koeman has shortlisted some of the names ahead of next season

Barcelona’s new manager Ronald Koeman has figured some of the names to sign in the transfer window as the Dutch manager looks to revamp the Catalans after a dreadful season.

Here we take a look at the players Koeman wants to sign ahead of next season.

Memphis Depay

The Dutch forward has been considered as an alternative to Luis Suarez, who has been reportedly placed in the transfer exchange. Depay has been prolific for Lyon since he joined them and is valued at around 55 million euros. The 26-year-old has been a consistent performer for the Netherlands national team, and Koeman is seemingly keen on a reunion.

Lautaro Martinez

The Argentine striker had been long considered as the successor to Suarez before Barca halted their interest as a consequence of the financial crisis caused by the pandemic. However, Martinez is reportedly back on the transfer radar of the Blaugrana with Koeman interested in recruiting him. The 23-year-old had an eye-catching season with Inter Milan, racking up more than 20 goals in all competitions.

Donny van de Beek

Van de Beek was the first player to get linked with a move to the Nou Camp once Koeman took charge as Barca manager. The Dutch midfielder had been previously tipped to sign for Barca’s arch-rivals Real Madrid before the pandemic scuppered the deal. Now, Koeman wants Van de Beek, who is speculated to leave Ajax this summer, confirmed by manager Erik ten Hag.

Georginio Wijnaldum

Wijnaldum is another Dutch midfielder Koeman wants to add to the ranks of Barca ahead of next season. The Liverpool midfielder has been impressive under Jurgen Klopp for the past two seasons and a regular for the Netherland senior team, previously managed by Koeman. The 29-year-old has been cited as the replacement for Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic – who are likely to leave this summer.
