Barcelona agree personal terms with Manchester City player

Barcelona submit £8m bid for Manchester City defender Eric Garcia

Manchester City defender Eric Garcia is set to leave the club at the end of this season.

The young defender has rejected Manchester City’s offer of a new deal and he will return to his former club Barcelona once his contract expires with the Premier League side.

Garcia has already agreed personal terms with Barcelona and he will sign a five year contract with the Spanish giants.

The player was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona at the start of this season but the Spanish outfit refused to meet Manchester City’s asking price back then.

Garcia will be a free agent at the end of this season and therefore Barcelona will be able to sign him on a free transfer.

The youngster is highly rated around Europe and he has immense potential. Signing him on a free could prove to be a masterstroke in the long run.

Manchester City will be disappointed to be losing a quality young talent like Eric Garcia but his contract situation has left them powerless to stop him from joining Barcelona.

Eric Garcia has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester City since the signing of Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake.

It will be interesting to see if he can hold down a regular starting berth at Barcelona next season.

If he manages to fulfil his potential at the Spanish club he could be the ideal long term replacement for defender Gerard Pique.
