Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati has signed a new contract with the club.

The 17 year old broke into the first team squad last year and he has managed to impress with club hierarchy with his performances already.

Fati scored eight goals for Barcelona last year and he will be hoping to build on that and develop into a better player this year.

The 17 year old is highly rated at the Spanish club and he is expected to develop into a world class player in the future. It will be interesting to see if Ronald Koeman can help him grow as a player with regular first team football this season.

According to reports, the youngster’s release clause now stands at £367 million.

Fati has been handed the number 22 shirt at Barcelona after his promotion to the first team squad.

Barcelona have sold Luis Suarez to Atletico Madrid this summer and that will free up one attacking position at the club. The 17 year old attacker will be hoping to force his way into Koeman’s first team plans now and establish himself as a regular starter at the club. 

Speaking to the media after his first team promotion, Fati said: “It’s a dream come true for any kid that comes from La Masia. I am really happy. My family are too. And now I have to continue working like always to keep on improving. I am really excited. I want to improve day by day and learn from my team-mates. Every season is a test at Barca and I want to overcome this challenge.”
