Barcelona set to sell Ousmane Dembele this month

Ousmane Dembele-Barcelona

Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele is expected to leave the club this month after the player refused to sign a contract extension with the club.

According to the club director Alemany, the French international does not want to be a part of Barcelona’s project. The player has been informed that he will have to leave the club immediately. The Barcelona director has further stated that he expects Dembele to be sold before the January transfer window closes.

The 24-year-old has struggled with injuries since his move to the Spanish La Liga club, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up this month.

The player has been linked with a move to the Premier League for months now, and it will be interesting to see if a suitor comes forward for him in the next few days.

Dembele is undoubtedly a top-class player on his day, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for most clubs if he manages to stay fit. The player was rated highly during his time at Borussia Dortmund, but his development has stalled because of recurrent injury problems.

A move to the Premier League could be a major physical challenge for the player, and he will have to work hard to deal with the rigours of English football. The likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham could undoubtedly use a quality wide player like him right now, and all four clubs have the financial resources to pull off the transfer as well.

Dembele will probably be hoping to join a club capable of challenging for the league title and the Champions League.

Joining a club like Liverpool would be ideal for the Frenchman because of Jurgen Klopp’s high pressing style of football. The Reds could use some reinforcements in the broad areas, especially after the regression of Sadio Mane.

Similarly, Chelsea will need to add some pace and flair in the final third as well, and Dembele could be an exceptional addition for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
