Cadiz 1-3 Sevilla: Late goals help Lopetegui’s men clinch all three points

Cadiz 1-3 Sevilla Late goals help Lopetegui's men clinch all three points

Sevilla picked up a 3-1 win over Cadiz in La Liga earlier today.

The home side took the lead through Salvi Sanchez on the 48th minute but Sevilla managed to get back into the game around the hour mark when Luuk De Jong scored from his chance.

The away side scored their second goal of the game on the 90th minute and it seemed like the winner from Munir.

However, summer signing Ivan Rakitic managed to score Sevilla’s third of the game deep into injury time to seal all three points for the visitors.

Sevilla will be delighted with their performance away from home today and they will be hoping to challenge for the title this season.

Last season, they finished with the most number of points after Real Madrid and Barcelona. Barcelona are going through a rebuild under a new manager this season and that could allow Sevilla to get back into the title race.

It will be interesting to see if Sevilla can build on this will and put together an impressive run of results. They were quite impressive against Bayern Munich in the Super Cup as well earlier in the week.

Cadiz will be disappointed with their performance at home. They were agonisingly close to getting a point out of the game and the score line does not reflect how well they performed against a top quality team.
