Levante 0–2 Real: Vinicius, Benzema on target as Zidane’s men move top of the table

Vinicius Junior-Real Madrid

Los Blancos have secured an important away against Levante.

Real Madrid have picked up a comprehensive win against Levante in their away game in La Liga at Estadio de la Cerámica.

Vinicius Jr opened the scoring for Los Blancos as he found himself in a good position for Luka Modric’s corner. The Brazilian youngster has been in sublime form this season, scoring two goals in La Liga so far.

The hosts tried to find the equalizer however the strike of Vukcevic hit the crossbar.

Zinedine Zidane’s man had a handful of chances in the opening minutes of the second half, only to be blown away by Benzema and Vinicius. Later, Sergio Ramos also had his goal turned downed by VAR for offside.

After all, Levante had the chance in the final quarter of the game to spoil Madrid’s party, but Thibaut Courtois made a stunning save in the end.

Benzema, who has been presented with a plethora of opportunities throughout the game, scored the final goal in the injury time. Assisted by Rodrygo, the French striker beat Levante goalkeeper Aitor Fernandez. Surprisingly, the goal marked the first of the player, who finished second in La Liga’s scoring charts last season.

Zidane would be pleased with the dominant performance although many of his side’s chances went begging in the game.

Despite the draw against Real Sociedad in the opening game, Los Blancos have now come up with three wins in a row.
