Real Madrid caught off guard by Isco’s decision to leave in January

Isco-Real Madrid

The out-of-favour Spanish playmaker has set his sights on leaving Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have been left stunned by Isco’s decision to leave in the January transfer window.

According to reports, Los Blancos are unprepared for Iscos’ departure in the winter transfer window as they would unlikely sign a replacement for the Spaniard.

It is also understood that Isco had denied the opportunity to leave the club this summer, with him being contracted until 2022, and now Madrid are stunned with the Spaniard’s decision.

Earlier, it was reported that the Spanish capital club were unhappy about Zinedine Zidane’ treatment towards players including Isco, which eventually saw another out of favour star James Rodriguez move to Everton for free in the summer transfer window. The Colombian has been in scintillating form under his former gaffer Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park this season.

Isco has fallen down the pecking order of Zidane, so were the other stars including the likes of Luka Jovic and Marcelo.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Juventus and Everton, with the latter one turning out to be his next possible destination given the presence of former Los Blancos manager Ancelotti.

However, the Italian boss has shut down the transfer links of Isco to Everton in a rude way.

“It is not true that I am behind Isco.

“We haven’t started thinking about the team for the January market. So those comments are, as they say here, bulls***.”

Isco’s desire to leave the defending La Liga champions is understandable given his stance with Zidane but it remains to be seen where he will be heading next.
