Real Madrid held to a goal-less draw against Osasuna

Benzema-Ramos-Real Madrid

Real Madrid were held to a 0-0 draw against Osasuna in the Spanish League earlier tonight.

The likes of Karim Benzema and Mariano Diaz had two goals ruled out for offside and Los Blancos failed to grind out a win in the end.

The pitch was in unplayable condition due to heavy snow and Zidane will feel hard done by.

The draw tonight leaves Real Madrid just three points ahead of Barcelona and one point adrift of League leaders Atletico Madrid.

That said, Diego Simeone’ side have three games in hand.

Real Madrid will be thoroughly disappointed with their performance tonight and they had just one shot on target against Osasuna all night.

On the other hand, Osasuna managed two shots on target despite being the inferior side in the contest.

The draw will be an impressive result for Osasuna who are battling relegation this season. They will take heart from this performance and will be hoping to build on this result now.

Zinedine Zidane is already under pressure after a mediocre start to the season and his team were expected to pick up their form and close the gap with Atletico Madrid during the second half of the season.

Los Blancos are clearly in need of attacking reinforcements and it will be interesting to see if they can bring in a quality addition this month and launch a proper title challenge against Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid are overly reliant on Benzema and they need to bring in someone who can create as well as score goals on a consistent basis.
