Modric ready to sign contract extension

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric is set to renew his contract until the end of the next season after reportedly agreeing a deal in principle.

With his current contract expiring next summer, there were uncertainties over his stay at Santiago Bernabeu. However, following the Croatian’s top-notch performances despite ageing 35 have convinced Madrid hierarchy to reward him with a new deal.

Modric has been the key cog in Zidane’s midfield this season after constantly nailing down a place in the starting line-up.

Madrid are reportedly considering a move for Manchester City youngster Phil Foden should he gets weary over the lack of game time at Etihad.
