Barcelona have been linked with a move for the Ajax defender Sergino Dest.

According to reports, the Spanish giants have now reached an agreement with the Dutch club to sign the United States international this summer.

Barcelona recently sold Nelson Semedo to Wolverhampton Wanderers and the youngster will come in as his replacement.

Dest is highly rated around Europe and he could develop into a top-class player with the right coaching.

Barcelona have done well to develop young players at their disposal over the years and they will be hoping to help Dest fulfil his potential at Camp Nou.

A move to Barcelona is a massive step up in the youngster’s career and it will be interesting to see if he manages to settle in quickly into his new surroundings and make an immediate impact this season.

The player was linked with a move to Bayern Munich as well but Barcelona have done well to fend off the competition and secure his signature.

New manager Ronald Koeman is looking for a rebuild this summer and the Spanish outfit have already offloaded some of their fringe players like Cuenca, Rakitic and Vidal.
