Lucas Ocampos-Sevilla

Sevilla picked up a 2-0 away win over Eibar in the Spanish League on Saturday.

The win takes them up to third in the La Liga table, just one point behind champions Real Madrid and eight points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid.

Sevilla have been in impressive form this season and they will be hoping to close the gap at the top of the table in the coming weeks.

The away side started the game well and they had earned a penalty after a foul on Youssef En-Nesyri. However, video review went Eibar’s way and the penalty was overturned.

Sevilla kept dominating proceedings and the visitors earned a legitimate penalty after another challenge on En-Nesyri.

The referee had dismissed the claim initially but video review decided in Sevilla’s favour this time.

Argentine midfielder Lucas Ocampos scored from the spot to give his side the lead on the 28th minute and Joan Jordan added the second goal of the game on the 55th minute to secure the three points for his side.

Eibar did well to fight back but they failed to breakdown the Sevilla defence in the end.

Sevilla have now picked up their fourth consecutive victory in all competitions they will be hoping to put together a winning run now.

As for Eibar, they are 15th in the League table with 20 points from 21 League games and they will have to improve a lot in order to beat the drop this season.

They are just two points above the drop zone and they cannot afford to be complacent in their upcoming matches.
