The Frenchman has been shortlisted as one of the candidates to become the new manager of Barca.

Barcelona are reportedly considering Thierry Henry an option to replace the exit-linked Quique Setien.

Setien has been tipped to leave the Nou Camp in the aftermath of Barca’s humiliating exit from the Champions League. The former Real Betis gaffer neither inspired the Catalans to the La Liga title.

As per reports, Barca have figured out Henry as one of the candidates for the managerial role alongside Ronald Koeman, Max Allegri and Mauricio Pochettino.

Henry, who had represented Barcelona as a player, currently manages Montreal Impact. Prior to his move to the MLS, the former French international had managerial stints at Belgium national team (assistant) and Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.

Recent reports suggested that Pochettino turns out to be the favourite to land a job, with the former Spurs manager looking to be not affected by his history with Espanyol, Barca’s local rivals.

In the light of the Champions League horror show, the Blaugrana president Josep Maria Bartomeu confirmed several announcements to be made soon, one of many could be the change in the managerial role.

It will be interesting to see how Henry could impact the withering Barca side as he lacks the experience needed at a higher level.

His previous stint with Monaco was a fleeting one as he managed to pick up only four wins out of 20 games at the helm. He was relieved of the duties after just three months in charge.
