Muller has given a scathing verdict on the PSG forward.

Former Brazilian footballer Luis Muller has taken shots at Neymarlabelling the PSG forward as overrated.

Muller said that the 29-year-old is not in the same breath as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi for not winning the Ballon d’Or award in his career.

Muller said: “Neymar is overrated. He is not worth all the money that PSG paid for him, while he has never won the Ballon d’Or.

“The big ones can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Cristiano and Messi are because they showed it on the pitch. Neymar is more valued off the pitch than on the pitch.”

Neymar has faced a lot of criticism in his career, but that doesn’t take away the fact he is one of the best players in the world at the moment.

He might not have won a UCL trophy with Les Parisiens following his world-record move to the French capital, but his numbers are there to prove that he can be decisive all day long.

The former Barcelona star has suffered multiple injuries during his time at Paris Saint-Germain, but it never affected his consistency on the pitch.

Neymar was the driving force behind PSG reaching the finals of the Champions League in the 2019/20 season and the Brazilian national team ending as the runners up in the recently concluded Copa America tournament, where he was the team’s best player.

He got unlucky on quite a few occasions, but with signing a long term contract with Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar would try to bring the long evading UCL glory to the French capital, let alone Ballon d’Or.
