Mbappe ponders over extending his contract at PSG

The French ace has been heavily linked with a move away from Parc Des Princes.

PSG forward Kylian Mbappe appears to get caught in a dilemma on whether to renew his deal or not, with his current deal expiring in 2022.

However, the World Cup winner insists he would be happy to stay put in the end as he feels grateful to the capital club.

“It’s not a case of wanting to win some time. It’s a genuine reflection because, for example, I don’t want to sign a contract and then one year later say I want to leave because I didn’t want to sign the contract. If I sign it is to stay. That’s why it prompts me to think.”

“We are discussing with the club to find a project. I said I am also reflecting because if I sign it is to invest in the long term at Paris Saint-Germain. I am very happy here. I have always been very happy.”

“The supporters [and] the club have always helped me and for that, I will always be grateful towards the club. I want to reflect on what I want to do in the coming years, where I want to be. That is how my reflection is turning. I will shortly need to make a choice. I am thinking very hard.”

Mbappe signed for PSG in 2017 from Monaco for an expensive transfer fee worth £166m and has since been an integral part to the side.

Real Madrid are turning out to be his potential suitors and they are planning to have him at their disposal by 2022 or else the La Liga giants also wouldn’t hesitate to splurge on the 21-year-old in the summer transfer window.
