PSG sack Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino set to take over

Paris Saint-Germain have sacked Thomas Tuchel after the French side’s mixed start to the season and it seems that they are about to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager.

According to reports, the French outfit are looking to conclude the deal quickly.

Mauricio Pochettino is rated highly across Europe and Paris Saint-Germain have been eyeing up a move for him for quite some time now.

The former Tottenham manager played for the club during his days as a footballer and the French outfit admire his style of play as a manager.

Paris Saint-Germain are currently third in the League table with four defeats in 17 games and it will be interesting to see if Mauricio Pochettino can help them defend their League title once again.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager had a falling out with the club’s sporting director Leonardo and he was expected to be relieved of his duties at the end of this season.

Thomas Tuchel is expected to join a Premier League club now and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Former Juventus manager Max Allegri was on the list of potential replacements as well but Mauricio Pochettino is now the front runner for the Paris Saint-Germain job and the appointment should be finalised soon.

The French outfit have struggled in the European competitions under Thomas Tuchel despite the considerable resources at his disposal and it remains to be seen if the former Tottenham manager can improve the club’s fortunes in the Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino managed to guide Tottenham to Champions League final and he should be able to go all the way with Paris Saint Germain given the quality of players at the club.
