Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos has heaped praise on the club’s new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine manager managed to win his first trophy just three games into his tenure as the club’s manager.
He won the Trophee des Champions against Marseille and Marquinhos believes that Pochettino is an exceptional coach.
“It’s a pleasure to be on the pitch, to be able to give your all so that you can win matches and trophies. That’s why I came to PSG,” the Brazilian said. “There is a new coach with a new philosophy; it’s not always easy to change during the season but Pochettino is an exceptional coach. He talks a lot with the players and explains well what he wants.
“We thank [Thomas] Tuchel for what he did here, for me because I progressed well under him and he showed me a new level of football that I never expected to reach.”
The former Tottenham manager came close to winning a trophy during his time in England as well but his side lost out to Liverpool in the Champions League final.
With PSG, Pochettino will have plenty of resources and world-class players at his disposal and it remains to be seen if he can win the Champions League with the French outfit.
There is no doubt that Pochettino is an excellent tactician and he is very good at building teams.
PSG have plenty of talented players at their disposal and Pochettino could play a key role in developing them over the next few seasons.
The likes Kimpembe, Mbappe, Kehrer and Kean can all improve under the management of Pochettino. The Argentine manager did a similar job with youngsters like Winks, Dier, Kane, Son and Alli at Tottenham.
