Rio Ferdinand heaped praise on Mbappe, said he resembles Ronaldo

Paris Saint-Germain Kylian Mbappe

Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has heaped praise on the PSG star Kylian Mbappe.

According to the former English defender, Mbappe is the closest thing to Ronaldo Nazario.

The Brazilian Ronaldo is regarded as one of the finest players of his time and he could have been the best player in the world if not for his injuries.

Ferdinand also claimed that the former Liverpool striker Michael Owen was this good when he was a teenager.

He said: “He’s the nearest thing we’ve seen to Ronaldo. In terms of impact on the world scene as a teenager, Michael Owen is on a level. He makes you feel like a kid again watching football. He makes you get goosebumps before he’s even kicked a ball.'”

The 21-year-old is already one of football’s biggest superstars and it will be interesting to see how much he can improve in the future.

The Frenchman has scored 30 goals this season and he will be hoping to guide his club to a Champions League win now.

PSG are in the final of the Champions League this season and they will face either Bayern Munich or Lyon.

Mbappe has also won the World Cup with his country and he has four French League titles to his name. Soon, he could have a Champions League title in his bag as well.

Once the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo hang up their boots, the likes of Kylian Mbappe are expected to step up as the game’s next superstars.

The Frenchman is a generational talent and it will be interesting to see if PSG can hold onto him during his peak years.

The winger was linked with a move to Real Madrid not so long ago and if he continues to perform at this level, Los Blancos could come in for him soon.
