Liverpool in talks to sign new Goalkeeper after Alisson injury

Jurgen Klopp reaction, after Liverpool won Premier League

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Stoke City keeper Jack Butland.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from the championship for a while now and it will be interesting to see if he returns to the Premier League this summer.

Liverpool star Alisson has been ruled out for a few weeks with a shoulder injury and the Reds need to bring in a quality keeper to replace the Brazilian in the starting lineup for the next few weeks.

Although Liverpool have Adrian at their disposal, the Spaniard was atrocious against Aston Villa and he has cost Liverpool multiple times already.

Starting him against Everton and Man City in the coming weeks could hurt the defending champions and it will be interesting to see if they can sign Butland before the transfer window closes on Friday.

The 27 year old was highly rated in the country a few years ago but his form has regressed in the last few years.

Butland will have to regain his form and confidence if he wants to play for a club like Liverpool.

Apparently the two clubs have held talks regarding a transfer and it remains to be seen whether they can sort out an agreement in the coming days.

A move to Anfield would be a massive step up in Jack Butland’s career and the player is likely to be tempted if there is a concrete offer on the table.

Stoke might struggle to replace the player this late in the window and they will be demanding a premium for his services.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool are willing to shell out big money for the former England international.
