The Portuguese manager believes he is getting better with his age.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has claimed that he is up for the challenge for the forthcoming Premier League season.

The former Real Madrid boss stated that he is not too old to be played down as he is becoming better with age.

Mourinho said, “People think I’m very old because I have been at this level since 2002 — I’m not very old, I’m very young for a football manager.”

“A coach gets better and better until the motivation is gone, and in my case, I love it more and more and more. I like the challenge.”

The Spurs boss also expressed his desire to enjoy and win many games.

“First of all, I want to enjoy, and secondly, I want to win more.”

“I want to wake up in the morning and have that happiness of going to the training session.”

“It looks as if Mourinho is mentally prepared for the upcoming season.”

The Portuguese manager hasn’t had the best of the season last term as Spurs failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Mourinho came in midway through the season but he was largely ineffective despite a promising start.

Spurs are looking to add reinforcements in the transfer window, with players like Diego Costa, Nicolo Zaniolo being linked over a move.

The North Londoners have been so far impressive in the pre-season friendlies and will face Everton in their first Premier League game next season.
