Tottenham Hotspur picked up a remarkable last gasp win over Leicester City in the Premier League last night. Steven Bergwijn produced a stunning display after coming on as a late substitute.

Tottenham were losing the game 2-1 in stoppage time, and Bergwijn scored the equaliser for the Londoners on the 95th minute.

The Dutch international then went on to produce a stunning winner two minutes later to secure all three points for Tottenham in the 97th minute.

Antonio Conte’s men are desperate to get into the top four this season, and the win over Leicester City could prove to be a crucial victory for them.

Bergwijn has been linked with a move away from Tottenham for months now, and he was heavily linked with a move to Ajax.

However, it appears that his performance against Leicester City has changed the mind of manager Antonio Conte.

The Italian manager is not interested in selling the player this month.

It seems that the performance against Leicester City has handed Bergwijn a much-needed lifeline at Tottenham, and it will be interesting to see if the Dutchman can grasp the opportunity with both hands and establish himself as a critical starter for Conte.

The former PSV Eindhoven winger is undoubtedly a talented player, but he has been quite inconsistent for Tottenham so far.

If he can work on his consistency and the defensive side of his game, the winger could be a useful option for Tottenham and Conte.

The London club are already lacking in depth in the final third, and keeping Bergwijn at the club until the end of the season could prove to be a wise decision.

It does not seem like Tottenham will be able to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window, and therefore they should look to keep the squad intact until the summer at the very least.
