Arsenal join Liverpool in the race for Thiago Alcantara

The Spanish midfielder has been highly speculated to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

Arsenal have entered the race for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago, who is most likely to leave this summer.

As per reports, Arsenal have enquired about the availability of Thiago, who also runs high on the wishlist of Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are understood to be the frontrunners for the former Barcelona midfielder as he has set his heart on joining the Premier League champions.

Liverpool, however, are reluctant to meet Bayern’s 23 million pounds valuation for Thiago although they appear to have agreed personal terms with him.

The Bavarians are looking to let the 29-year-old off the hook as he had denied a contract extension.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking for midfield reinforcement as they have been linked with the likes of Thomas Partey and Philippe Coutinho. Mikel Arteta also could lose Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira ahead of next season. Both the players had barely featured in the final half of the last season.

The Gunners are also in talks with Real Madrid over the permanent signing of Dani Ceballos, who was impressive in his loan spell.

Lyon midfield prospect Houssem Aouar is another player the Noth Londoners are keeping close tabs on.

Thiago has been impressive for Bayern over the past few seasons and is also a regular for the Spain national team.

The former La Masia player will be in action in the Champions League finals where Bayern will take on PSG.
