Arsenal offered cash plus Guendouzi-Aouar swap deal to Lyon

Mikel Arteta opened up on contracting Coronavirus Isolation and recovery

Arsenal are hoping to sign the Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar this summer.

According to reports, the Gunners have offered the French team the chance to sign Matteo Guendouzi. The Premier League side have offered some cash along with the midfielder as well for Aouar.

Apparently Lyon have turned down the offer and they are looking for a fee of around £54m for their star midfielder.

Aouar has been sensational for Lyon this season in the French League as well as the Champions League.

He could prove to be a fantastic addition to the Arsenal midfield.

It will be interesting to see if the Gunners can submit a new offer for the midfielder in the coming weeks.

Arsenal need to improve their midfield options and someone like Aouar could take them to a whole new level next season.

The Lyon star will add creativity and control to Mikel Arteta’s midfield.

The reported asking price seems quite steep and it would be surprising to see Arsenal pay that much for the midfielder unless of course there is a big sale.

The likes of Lacazette have been linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer and the Gunners could use that money to sign their preferred targets like Aouar.

Arsenal might not be the only club after the Lyon midfielder this summer and they should look to make their move quickly in order to fend off the competition and secure his services.

The likes of Manchester City have been linked with the midfielder in the recent months as well.

That said, Arsenal cannot offer him Champions League football next season and it will be interesting to see if the midfielder is willing to give that up in order to move to Emirates.
