Arsenal trigger 27-year-old’s massive release clause

Arsenal eyeing for Thomas Partey and permanent Ceballos deal

Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid.

The 27 year old midfielder has been linked with a move to the London club for a while now and it seems that the Gunners have decided to spend big money on him.

Apparently, they have informed La Liga that they will pay the 50 million euro release clause for Thomas Partey.

Partey is poised to sign a 4-year deal worth around £250,000 per week, and seven-figure signing on fee. His release clause is worth £45m but, considering VAT, the transfer fee will total around £56m.

The midfielder will add power and presence to Mikel Arteta’s midfield and he should be a quality investment for the London club.

Thomas Partey is at the peak of his career right now and he should be able to settle in and make an immediate impact at Arsenal.

The Gunners needed someone like him in their midfield to dominate games better.

It will be interesting to see if these signings can help Arsenal get back into the top four this season. A club of their stature deserves to play in the Champions League regularly and Arteta will be focused on getting the Londoners back amongst the European elite.

Arsenal have let go of Matteo Guendouzi earlier today and Partey should be his replacement. The Atletico midfielder is certainly an upgrade on the youngster and he is a better tactical fit in terms of Arteta’s game play.

The Ghanaian has proven himself in Spain and he will be determined to showcase his talent in England now.

Furthermore, Lucas Torreira is heading out for Arsenal this summer as well.
