Arsenal Update: Latest on Balogun, Rekik transfer and Zaha admission

Arsenal Transfer Round-up Lacazette and Torreira swap

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of defender Omar Rekik from Hertha Berlin.

The talented young defender was close to joining the club during the summer transfer window but the blue could not be completed in time and he has now become Arsenal’s first January signing.

The likes of Sead Kolasinac and William Saliba have left the club on loan and Rekik should prove to be a quality squad option.

It will be interesting to see if the club can now bring in a quality central midfielder.

Meanwhile, talented Arsenal midfielder Miguel Azeez has now been added to FIFA 21 after the latest update.

EA Sports released the latest player database for FIFA 21 and the 18-year-old midfielder has now been added to the club’s virtual squad.

Mikel Arteta has revealed that the club are looking to tie Folarin Balogun to a new long term contract but the player’s agent has made things difficult.

The player is in the final six months of his contract and it will be interesting to see if the Gunners can convince him to continue at the London club beyond this season.

“Well, you need three parties to make a deal,” he said. “For sure the club wants to make a deal, the manager wants to make a deal, and I’m not sure about the agent.”

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha has revealed that he grew up supporting Arsenal but he stopped supporting the Gunners when he joined Manchester United.

“I supported Arsenal when I was growing up, my whole family supported Arsenal actually,” he told Jamie Carragher’s Greatest Game podcast. “It’s only when I moved to Man United that I stopped supporting anyone in general.”
