Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Ben White from Brighton and Hove Albion.

According to the latest reports from Sky Sports, the 23-year-old England international is all set to undergo his medical with the London club tomorrow.

The two clubs have apparently agreed on a fee in the region of £50 million.

The Gunners needed to improve their defensive options before the start of the new season, and the signing of Ben White could prove to be a quality decision for them.

The Premier League signed Gabriel Magalhaes from the French league last season, and the Brazilian did reasonably well in his debut season.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping for a similar impact from Ben White next season.

The 23-year-old is well settled in English football and should be able to make an immediate impact for the London club.

The young defender will be expected to lay the foundations of a solid defensive partnership alongside Kieran Tierney, Gabriel and Hector Bellerin next season.

White was a part of the England squad for the European Championships, and he has a massive future ahead of him.

Arsenal are paying a hefty fee for him, but the player certainly has the talent to justify the investment in the long run.

The 23-year-old deserves to play for a top club, and a move to Arsenal is the ideal step up in his career right now. The defender is likely to improve quickly, playing alongside better players and at a higher level with the Gunners.
