Burnley 0-2 Manchester City: Jesus, Sterling score, as City continue unbeatable run

Manchester City picked up a 2-0 win over Burnley in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Pep Guardiola’s side were the favourites they produced a  dominant performance. The Spaniard will be happy with the showing of his players tonight and city are now three points clear at the top of the table.

Manchester City travel to Anfield for the next Premier League game and they needed to win here in order to keep the momentum and confidence going ahead of a crunch clash with Liverpool.

Gabriel Jesus scored the opening goal of the game on the third minute Raheem Sterling wrapped up the scoring on the 38th minute to secure all three points for Manchester City.

City were gifted the opening goal of the game after Nick Pope palmed the ball into the path of the Brazilian striker after saving Bernardo Silva’s shot.

Gundogan set up the second goal of the game for Sterling.

Burnley came close to scoring through Matej  Vydra who volleyed over the crossbar from close range in the second half.

Sterling the opportunity to increase Manchester City’s advantage after half time but Nick Pope denied him one on one to keep the score at 2-0.

Burnley are down to 16th in the Premier League table with just 22 points from 21 matches and it will be interesting to see if they can bounce back strongly in their next game.

Manchester City have now picked up their ninth consecutive Premier League win and their sixth consecutive clean sheet.

They are undoubtedly the best team in the League right now and it will be interesting to see if they can go all the way and lift the Premier League title this season.
