Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson is all set to sign a new long term deal at the club.

The 23-year-old was on loan at Sheffield United last season and he was highly impressive for the blades.

Manchester United are keen on keeping him at the club and it will be interesting to see if he can establish himself as the club’s first-choice keeper next season.

Currently, David De Gea is United’s number one keeper but the Spaniard has not been at his best for quite some time.

Henderson will certainly fancy his chances of snatching the starting berth away from the Spaniard.

As per the reports, Henderson’s new deal is thought to be worth around £100,000 per week.

The new deal will keep him at the club until 2024.

Henderson is unlikely to return to Sheffield United for another loan spell and he will be hoping to secure a place in the national team set up as well.

David de Gea will have to improve his performances next season if he wants to keep his first-team place intact.

The increased competition for the starting berth will help both players improve.

The decision to award a new contract to Dean Henderson should prove to be a wise move from the Old Trafford outfit. The 23 year old is a mercurial talent and losing him this summer would have been a catastrophe.

The player has been linked with Chelsea in recent weeks as well.
