How could Chelsea line up with the signings of Erling Haaland and Declan Rice in Premier League and Champions League?

Erling Haaland-Borussia Dortmund

Chelsea won the Champions League last season, and they will be hoping to challenge for the Premier League trophy in the upcoming season.

Thomas Tuchel will be aware that his side needs quality reinforcements if they are to bridge the gap with the likes of Manchester City.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland this summer. Although the German outfit are adamant that the Norwegian will not be sold anytime soon, the Blues are prepared to make a big-money move for him.

Chelsea spent £45 million on Timo Werner last season, but the German has been quite mediocre. On the other hand, Haaland was in outstanding form last year, and he managed to score 41 goals across all competitions.

The 21-year-old would be an upgrade on Werner, and his arrival could transform the Chelsea attack.

The Blues have also been linked with a move for their former midfielder Declan Rice who has shown remarkable growth at West Ham United.

Chelsea must look to bring in more quality and competition at the centre of the midfield, and Declan Rice could challenge the likes of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante for a starting berth.

Depending upon the opposition, Tuchel could use Rice and Kante as his starters to remain solid defensively. Also, the 22-year-old England international could allow the Chelsea manager to rotate Kante more often so that the 30-year-old Frenchman can remain fresh for the big games.

Here at Anytime football, we look at how Chelsea could line up next season with the signings of Haaland and Rice.
