Leeds 0-0 Arsenal: Gunners secure a draw after Pepe’s red

Leeds United were held to a 0-0 draw against Arsenal in the Premier League earlier tonight.

The Whites will be disappointed to have dropped two points here especially after they managed to hit the woodwork three times in the game.

Furthermore, Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno did exceedingly well to deny Patrick Bamford twice in the first half and then saving from Stuart Dallas and Poveda in the second half.

As for Arsenal, Nicolas Pepe was sent off in the 51st minute after an altercation with Alioski.

Mikel Arteta will be thoroughly disappointed with his team’s performance and it will be interesting to see how the red card tonight affects Nicolas Pepe’s future at the club.

Arsenal paid a fee of around 72 million pounds for the winger but he has failed spectacularly so far. He managed to squander a great opportunity to showcase his potential today by picking up a silly suspension.

Despite all that, Arsenal could have won the game tonight but Bukayo Saka was denied late on by Illan Meslier.

Tonight’s draw leaves Arsenal in the 11th position in the Premier League table with just 13 points and they will have to improve immensely if they want to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Meanwhile Leeds United are 14th in the Premier League table right now.
