Leeds 1-0 Sheffield Late Bamford goal ensures 3-points for Leeds

The Whites picked up a narrow win against Sheffield United.

Leeds United have edged out Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, with Patrick Bamford scoring the only goal of the game.

Both the teams were on the front foot from the off, with Leeds defender Luke Ayling denied a chance by Aaron Ramsdale.

Not long after, the hosts had a great chance to get the lead around the half-hour mark before young goalie Meslier forced a stunning save from Lundstram.

Ramsdale and Meslier were both tested for good as they made a handful of saves in the game.

Although Leeds lost a bit of momentum in the second half, they were presented with a fantastic chance to go ahead, only to be scuppered by Stuart Dallas.

However, Leeds’ hard work paid off after Patrick Bamford, who earlier had many chances, broke the deadlock with a brilliant header before the injury time aided by Jack Harrison’s cross.

The Blades looked dejected after the defeat as they couldn’t contain Leeds at the end of the game.

The win marked the second in a row after an impressive victory against Fulham last week, though they lost the first game against Liverpool. Ian Poveda made his debut for Leeds after coming off the bench in the second half.

Marcelo Bielsa has finally achieved a clean sheet after what looked like a clinical defensive performance. Prior to the game, the Argentine manager has been under scrutiny for the defensive woes they displayed in the previous encounters.
